Two men, one from Columbus, Ohio and the other from Palm Beach, Florida, met in Southern California during the early 80’s in pursuit of training men and women who desired to learn how to raise money to fund their ministries. For ten years, Frank Dickerson and Joseph Ellis trained thousands of staff both in the USA and in over 21 countries overseas for one of America’s largest non-profit organizations. Their seminars which detailed fundraising principles and techniques consistently increased attendees' fund-development levels during their tenure.

During the 90’s, Frank and Joe served as development consultants in areas of Direct Marketing, Communications and Major Donor Cultivation, among others. It was during this time that Frank discovered a method of creating personalized letters using a little known process that he and Joe later trademarked under the name HandScriptTM. HandScript is the computer simulated handwriting of an individual’s penmanship that is used to personalize mailings to their constituents.

Any bit of information that can be included in a database can be HandScripted, creating a high touch, personalized look. Frustrated that no one could provide this personalized service, Frank and Joe came together to create a company they call High Touch Solutions. High Touch Direct Mail followed and is the production company that creates the highly personalized direct mail packages that they say . . . Gets Opened, Gets Read and Gets Results! Frank and Joe both look back to their childhood at their earliest treck to develop funds for a "much needed project." For Frank, the son of a Texas oilman, the discovery of used and discarded soda bottles along the roadside became his funding source – the redemption of which paid for a movie and popcorn a few times each month. He fondly recalls this as his earliest quest to discover a reliable source of funding. Joe, the son of a Canadian emigrant from Nova Scotia, who became a sought-after executive chef at private golf resorts in the Northeast, began his philanthropic quest going door-to-door selling greeting cards in exchange for prizes. Though somewhat self-serving, their childhood philanthropic quests instilled a spirit of discovery for both men and their desire to transfer that to others who would charge ahead in their own fundraising adventures. . . albeit for more serious projects.

Today, Frank and Joe lead a company that has experienced tremendous growth each year since their founding in 1998. High Touch Solutions and High Touch Direct Mail serves many of America’s leading nonprofit organizations, as well as international organizations. Since their humble beginnings in a hanger-like training center located just yards from the flight-line of a former Air Force base in Southern California where airport radar once unexplainably affected their cell phones, High Touch continues meet the direct mail needs of their clients.

In 2000, actual Genuine HandWritingTM services was added to their hallmark service of HandScripting. Genuine HandWritingTM provides HighTouch Solutions with, as a new client recently stated, "a service where a human heart is [indeed] attached to the pen." Vision achieved.
